Speaker Bio
Ewan is a conservation scientist with broad, interdisciplinary interests that range from spatial conservation prioritisation, through conservation ethics to the impact of socio-political and economic factors on the likelihood of conservation success. Ewan has a long held an interest in how people relate to conservation issues and has developed a strong interest in the psychology of behaviour change and its application to conservation. Ewan's desire to learn from existing experts in the field of marketing led him to develop collaborations first with a commercial market research firm (Touchstone Partners), and more recently with the Future of Marketing Initiative at Oxford University’s Saïd Business School, where he is now based as a Chester Zoo Conservation Fellow in Conservation Marketing.
